This collection contains a list of those buried in the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Knoxville, Tennessee. The survey was conducted by Roscoe C. D'Armand in 1960, adding to a survey conducted by Dr. Andrew P. White in 1901, when several graves were moved in preparation of construction on the church. The typed document in 35 pages in length.

This certificate of dismission, signed by James Park for the First Presbyterian Church of Knoxville, Tennessee, indicates that James W. Deaderick has been dismissed by his own request and is affectionately recommended to the fellowship of the First Presbyterian Church of Jonesboro, Tennessee. A later hand has added Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Tennessee above Deaderick's name.

This collection consists of a Confederate food inventory from the Office of Chief Commissary of General Simon B. Bolivar's Division dated November 14, 1863. The inventory the thousands of pounds of beef, sugar, and bacon received between November 9 and November 14, 1864 as Confederate General James Longstreet's army was preparing for the attack on Knoxville, Tennessee.

This collection consists of a photocopied manuscript of Charles Ewing's poem "Fort Sanders." Written in 1940, "Fort Sanders" is a descriptive work that chronicles the events at the Battle of Fort Sanders, which took place in Knoxville in 1863.

This collection contains a Fort Sanders Walking Tour Guide booklet from 1981 and provides information for a self-guided walking tour of the Fort Sanders neighborhood in Knoxville, Tennessee. This guide was created by Knoxville Heritage Inc. (later Knox Heritage) and is 11 pages with illustrations by Cindy Bankey and a neighborhood map on the back cover.

This collection houses a typescript of an oral history interview conducted with Foster Arnett by G. Kurt Piehler and Johnny Goins for the Veteran's Oral History Project at the Center for the Study of War and Society. The interview documents Arnett's childhood in East Tennessee, his experiences in the Pacific Theater during World War II, and his postwar legal practice.

This collection consists of two diaries, an ambrotype, and a Grand Army of the Republic Veterans' medal relating to Sergeant Frank Bean. Bean, a Sergeant in the Union Army, served in and around Tennessee during the American Civil War.

This notebook (handwritten primarily in French) contains notes on the books that the Reverend Frédéric Espérandieu read between 1822 and 1824. A number of apparently original poems, likely written by Rev. Espérandieu, are also included.

A pamphlet printed in 1830 of Reverend Frederick A. Ross' "A Sermon on Intemperance," given in Knoxville, Tennessee a year prior.

Nathaniel C. McLean wrote this letter to his wife, Mary Louise (Thompson) McLean, on May 3, 1864 while he was inspecting Union fortifications in and around Knoxville, Tennessee.

In a letter written February 4, 1865 from the Officers' Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn., to Colonel Cross, George W. Douglas writes concerning his desire for an artifical leg to help him walk.

This collection consists of a hand drawn survey dated 1806 of lands held near Nashville, Tennessee by George Washington Campbell, a letter written by Campbell to a Mrs. Mary Doherty in 1832 concerning 640 acres of Campbell's land in Tennessee, and an undated stereograph of George Washington Campbell's Nashville, Tennessee mansion.

This collection consists of three military records of Gideon S. Sentelle from 1865. The records include a discharge paper from Knoxville, Tennessee and two muster-out rolls.

James H. Ewing wrote this fictional letter from Miss Gracie Sue Ellen Davenport of Knoxville, Tennessee to Franklin Percival Ewing for Dr. Cooke's American Theatre History Class in 1977. Supposedly dated February 25, 1875, the letter discusses the opening of the Staub Opera House on October 1, 1872.

This collection consists of black-and-white photographs by Knoxville-based photographer Granville Hunt in the 1920s and 1930s.

This collection contains two packets advertising the UTK Department of Graphic Design's 2000 Senior Show. Each packet includes invitations to the Show (held at the Foundry in Knoxville on April 28, 2000), a map, a list of student participants, and a group of cards containing graphic designs, student names, and quotations.

The letter is written by Gustavus A. Peltzer, dated July 2, 1863, and is addressed to his friend Ellis. The letter, written in response to previous correspondence from Ellis, details the events that led to his imprisonment in Knoxville, Tennessee. The collection also contains the original envelope used for this correspondance.
